About Astrid Weguelin

Astrid has always loved art and drawing, and knew it was something she wanted to do since she was little. Astrid studied illustration at Leeds Art University, and has been freelancing back in London ever since.

The basis of her aesthetic is made from hand-made ink textures, which she rolls, scans in and digitally cuts out – she finds the irregularities from built up ink give a lovely organic feel to the images.

Astrid also loves to cook and try out new dishes. She’s constantly flipping through recipe books – she makes the food, and then she often ends up drawing it too!

Her clients include: The Telegraph, The Big Issue, Conde Nast Traveler, Bookblock, Lodestars Anthology, Noble Rot, Scoop Magazine, Another Escape and Eighty Degrees.
